Almond Payasam

A ground almond pudding

Almond Payasam

Ingredients

  • 1 cupRaw Almonds
  • 2 LMilk
  • 1 cupSugar
  • 6Green cardamom
  • 1 pinchSaffron

Preparation

  1. Soak almonds in hot water for 4 hours
  2. Slide off the skin and grind with some of the milk to a fine paste
  3. Heat 2 tbsp of the milk and soak saffron
  4. Crush cardamom
  5. Heat the remaining milk in the microwave, 10 minutes at a time, stirring between each period
  6. Heat the milk for a total of 60 minutes
  7. Place in pan and heat on a stove
  8. Add ground almond, crushed cardamom, sugar, milk with the saffron and stir
  9. Serve it hot or chilled
