Ingredients
- 1 kgChicken pieces with bone
 - 2 tspGinger, minced
 - 2 tspGarlic, minced
 - 2 tspChilli powder
 - ½ tspTurmeric
 - ½ cupYoghurt
 - 1 tbspLemon juice
 - 2 tspCumin seeds
 - 1 tbspCoriander seeds
 - ½ tspPeppercorns
 - 1 tbspPoppy seeds
 - 4Cloves
 - 2Green cardamom
 - 2 cmsCinnamon
 - 10Kashmiri chillies
 - 5Dry red chillies
 - 1 tbspGarlic, sliced
 - 200 gmsOnions, sliced
 - 2 tbspGrated coconut
 - 200 gmsTomatoes, chopped
 - Oil
 - Salt
 
Preparation
- Marinate chicken in turmeric, chilli powder, ginger, garlic, lemon juice
 - Add yoghurt and some salt and mix and marinate for one hour
 - Toast cumin seeds, coriander seeds, peppercorns, poppy seeds, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, kashmiri and dry chillies till fragrant
 - Add sliced garlic, onions and grated coconut and toast till onions are soft
 - Grind fine with the tomatoes
 - Heat oil and fry ground paste till oil separates
 - Add marianted chicken and stir
 - Add 2 cups of water, bring to boil and simmer till chicken is cooked
