Radish Cake

Ingredients

  • 800 gmsRadish or Daikon
  • 2 tbspDried Shrimp
  • 100 gmsChinese sausage (Lap Cheong)
  • 200 gmsShallots
  • 2 cupsRice flour
  • ½ tspWhite pepper
  • 1 tspSugar
  • 1 tspSalt

Preparation

  1. Soak dried shrimp in water for 20 mins, drain and chop
  2. Grate radish coarsely
  3. Cook in pan with one cup water, stirring occasionally
  4. Remove from pan, add oil and heat
  5. Saute chopped shrimp and add chopped chinese sausage
  6. Add chopped shallots and stir
  7. Add this to the radish in a mixing bowl and add all other ingredients and mix
  8. Press into an oiled pan and steam for 1 hour
  9. Turn out and rest till cool
  10. Cut into slices and pan fry
