Kobi Wada

Pan fried fritters made of sliced cabbage

Kobi Wada

Ingredients

  • 400 gmsCabbage, finely sliced
  • 200 gmsOnions, finely diced
  • 2 tspTamarind paste
  • 1 tspSalt
  • 1 tspTurmeric
  • 4 tspChilli powder
  • 3 tspCumin powder
  • 3 tspCoriander powder
  • 1 bunchCoriander leaves
  • 1 cupBesan (Chickpea flour)
  • 1 cupRava (Semolina)
  •  Oil

Preparation

  1. Mix sliced cabbage, onion and salt
  2. Dissolve tamarind paste in a little water and mix
  3. Keep aside for at least 1 hour
  4. Drain and squeeze out any of the water
  5. Add turmeric, spice powders, chopped coriander leaves
  6. Keep for half and hour and squeeze out any water
  7. Add besan and mix. You should not need to add any water but can if it is too dry
  8. Make into balls, flatten and dust with semolina
  9. Place on hot pan and pour some oil on the sides
  10. Fry till it darkens in places and the inside is well cooked
