Beef Do Pyaza

Ingredients

  • 1 kgBeef, diced
  • 1 kgOnions, chopped
  • 1 kgOnions, sliced
  • 4Green chillies, chopped
  • 2Bay leaves
  • 50 gmsGinger
  • 50 gmsGarlic
  • 1 tspShahjeera
  • 2Brown cardamom
  • 6Cloves
  • 4Cardamom
  • 1 pieceCinnamon
  • ½ tspPepper
  • 10Kashmiri chillies
  • 2 tbspCoriander powder
  • 1 tbspCumin powder
  • 1 tspChilli powder
  • 1 tspTurmeric powder
  • 1 cupYoghurt, beaten
  •  Oil
  •  Salt

Preparation

  1. Heat oil, add bay leaves and then the chopped onions and green chillies and fry
  2. Add shahjeera and brown cardamom
  3. Add garlic and ginger and fry
  4. Coarsely ground cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, pepper, kashmiri chillies and add
  5. Add diced beef and stir
  6. Add coriander powder, cumin powder, chilli powder and turmeric and fry
  7. Add beaten yoghurt, salt and simmer for 1 to 2 hours till beef is tender. This can also be done in an oven at 160°C for a few hours
  8. Add sliced onions and stir
  9. Simmer for 30 minutes
